 Fine Carpentry was founded in Ojai, CA as a finish carpentry company, specializing in primarily stain grade millwork installation in upscale custom homes in 1985. Wood floor restoration, sanding and finishing was a sideline in the beginning, but soon became predominate as more knowledge of this specialized trade was attained. Membership in the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) enabled Fine Carpentry to access state of the art knowledge regarding the materials, techniques, tools and standards of the wood flooring industry.
In order to provide our clients with the best and most current information to assist in their decision making process, the educational aspect of the NWFA is embraced. Trade schools and seminars sponsored by the NWFA and wood and finish manufacturers are attended regularly. Wayne Leonard, owner, is one of the first in the industry to become certified by the NWFA in installation and sand and finish, having passed both written and hands-on examinations.
We are dedicated to the highest level of craftsmanship for our clients, and furthering our education in order to expand our knowledge base.
